In a small sauce pan, add the sugar and water. Bring to a soft boil until sugar dissolves. Add the rosemary sprig and let it steep until the syrup returns to room temperature. Store in an airtight container in the fridge until ready to party.
Festive Ice
Divide fresh cranberries, rosemary sprigs, and orange slices into an ice tray. Cover with equal parts cranberry juice and water until filled. Freeze until solid.
Cocktail
Mix cranberry juice, bourbon, ginger beer, lemon juice, and brown sugar rosemary simple syrup into a large pitcher. Stir well.
